As a mother I wanted to expose my children to the beauty of India so that they feel pride in their heritage and would be eager to exhibit Indian culture in their homes. Having married a first generation Indian American in the US I had seen a lot of hesitation in my husband when I bought Indian decor. However, after seeing the way I used/showcased the decor in our home he was surprised and was more appreciative of his Indian heritage.
